By accessing or using Shangazi Online ("we", "us", "the platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and by our Privacy Policy. If you are using the platform on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms on their behalf.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use Shangazi Online. We may revise these terms from time to time; continuing to use the platform after a revision means you accept the updated terms.
Eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and be capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to create an account.
Keeping your account secure
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised access.
One account per person
Accounts are personal to you. Personalised, watermarked editions are issued to your account specifically and shouldn't be shared or transferred.
Suspension or termination
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms — for example, through fraud, abuse, or unauthorised redistribution of personalised editions.
Payments
Purchases can be made via M-Pesa or PayPal. Prices are shown before checkout and are charged in the displayed currency at the time of purchase.
Personal licence
When you buy a book, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to read your watermarked copy. You don't acquire ownership of the underlying work.
No redistribution
Copying, reselling, publicly posting, or otherwise distributing your personalised edition is not permitted and may result in account suspension.
Refunds
Because each copy is personalised at the moment of purchase, sales are generally final. If something's gone wrong with your order, contact us — we review these on a case-by-case basis.
Author rights
Authors retain copyright in their work. Publishing through Shangazi Online does not transfer ownership of a manuscript to the platform.
Reviews you submit
By submitting a review, you confirm it's your own honest opinion and grant us permission to publish it (with your chosen display name) on the platform.
You agree not to use Shangazi Online to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, circumvent or interfere with our personalisation and watermarking systems, attempt to access another user's account, or disrupt the platform's normal operation. You also agree not to upload or submit content that is defamatory, hateful, or otherwise unlawful.
We reserve the right to remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe breach these terms — including reviews that appear fraudulent or are not genuine reflections of a reader's experience.
Shangazi Online is provided "as is." While we work hard to keep the platform reliable and accurate, we can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we aren't liable for losses arising from issues outside our reasonable control.
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from your use of the platform will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
